Oldie but Goodie Day at Bugaboo

Hooray it's Thursday! Time to check out what the Bugaboo team has done with some long forgotten images at the Catch the Bug Blog. I love seeing what the DT has chosen to work with each week, even though it results in my wish list getting longer! I'm amazed at the variety of images Jodie has created in the short time her store has been open. This week I chose to use one of the images from the JJ Calendar line. This one is November:

This card works for the Raise the Bar challenge which is "bundle up" this week.

Hey, have you heard the news? Bugaboo's challenge blog, Catch the Bug, is moving to a WEEKLY challenge starting this Saturday with a special challenge for World Cardmaking Day. Woo hoo! You know that Bugaboo gives away a freebie every Friday so why not pick one up and join in the NOW weekly challenges. You don't have to use a Bugaboo image, but if you do, you get more chances for prizes. It's a win/win.
One of my favorite lines from Bugaboo is this adorable Garden Cat, and in real life, I'm not really a fan of cats so it's funny that I like this little guy so much. He's adorable, don't you think? This one is called "Mischief"

Thanksgiving is right around the corner...for our Canadian friends that is. :) Of course, it's closer than you think in the US too...it will be here before we know it. Never too early to get started on some super cute Thanksgiving creations and Jodie at Bugaboo stamps has, once again, stepped in with a whole lotta cuteness for Thanksgiving with these Bobbleheads:

Time for Another Christmas Card

It's been awhile...a day at least...since I've made or posted a Christmas card so today is the day. This time I did NOT use a snowman. Nope, I went way out of the box and used this Stickfairy from Bugaboo stamps. If you know me at all, you know I am not really a fan of fairies. Leave it to Jodie to change my mind with these adorable Stickfairies! Check them out, there are a whole lot of them over at Bugaboo. This is from the Stickfairy Christmas line and it's called "Presents"

Catch The Bug Challenge

It has sure been a busy week at Bugaboo. We did a special challenge last Saturday for OWH, we're currently sponsoring a challenge at CDAC, and today is the day of our normal bi-monthly Saturday challenge!
I hope you picked up some of the adorable Halloween Bobbleheads that Jodie released yesterday because you're going to need them for this challenge. What is the challenge you ask? Well, it's Halloween in 3D! You don't have to make a 3D item, you just need to put something on your creation that adds some dimension-buttons, ribbon, whatever you choose. Of course, you CAN make a 3D item if you'd like to. Remember that if you use a Bugaboo image, you get two entries into the prize drawing for everyone one project that you make.
Photobucket
Head over to the Catch the Bug challenge blog to see what the rest of the Bugaboo DT created this week for your inspiration AND to join in the challenge.

Let's Get Cookin'

This week at the Crazy Challenge, the challenge is "Let's Get Cookin'" so, what better image to use for this challenge than this adorable image from the A Kid's View BBQ line at Bugaboo. This one is called "burnt to a crisp".
Photobucket
Okay, so I admit that the "good job" sentiment is a bit sarcastic, but I think it makes for a funny card so I'm going with that.

Friday Freebie!

Do you like Bobbleheads? I know I do and I think Jodie does a fantastic job making some of the most adorable bobbleheads...you should check out the Christmas bobbleheads at Bugaboo, you'll want them all. This week, Jodie is releasing some Halloween Bobbleheads and let me tell you, one is cuter than the next. You can pick up Frankie for free today, but before you do, check out the Catch the Bug blog to see what the rest of the Bugaboo DT did with Frankie.
Photobucket
If you like Frankie, go check out the rest of his friends in the Bugaboo shop!
Frankie works for the Paper Sundaes challenge which is to use Fall or Halloween colors.

Not What You Expect Today

Everyone knows that Thursday is Oldie but Goodie day at Catch the Bug and Bugaboo stamps. Today, however, we're doing something extra special. Bugaboo is hosting the Holiday/Special Occasion challenge over at CDAC! Head over there at 8AM to pick up this adorable Freebie "Mistletoe" to use in your Christmas inspired creation. You have until October 6th to get your entry uploaded and you can be in the running for four free images!
I decided to try my hand at one of these acetate boxes. I got the tutorial off of Splitcoast Stampers. I think this would be really fun filled with red and green M&M's but since I didn't have any handy, I thought the gold Werther's were a good substitute.

Photobucket

And a view from the side so you can see the candy:

Photobucket

I hope you'll join us over at the CDAC challenge, I'd love to see what you make with Mistletoe!
I promise, next Thursday we'll have our usual Oldie But Goodie day for you!
This is being entered into the Stampin Royalty challenge which is Anything But a Card and the Corrosive Challenge which is to use something you've had in your stash (the acetate)

More Watering Can

This is such a versatile image from Bugaboo. You can color it any number of colors, you can make it bright and cheery, holiday themed, autumn themed..whatever you want.
Photobucket
I used the sketch from One Stop Craft Challenge and am also entering this in the Secret Crafter challenge which is Anything Goes.

More Itchy Dog

**Don't forget, there is still time to enter the Catch the Bug Challenge for OWH HERE.**
**Check out the NEW Bugaboo Monthly Club on the sidebar. You can get all those images for $20! HERE**
You know I love this Itchy Dog from Bugaboo. I'm not sure you can buy him, I think he was a freebie giveaway for one of Jodie's groups and if so, I hope you got him because he's adorable.
Usually I color his sweater in kind of an olive green but this time I used a dark brown, not just for variety, but because of the Critter Sketch Challenge which was "no color".
Photobucket
Challenges:
Critter Sketch Challenge-no color (use neutrals) but no black and white
Papertake Weekly Challenge-animal magic

Cute and Cuddly-No Problem

The challenge this week at Pollycraft is to make a card with a Cute and Cuddly image. Well, the challenge there is deciding WHICH cute and cuddly image I want to use. You know I have a ton of them from Bugaboo and this little puppy floating away on his balloon is just one of them. There is a whole line of Critter Balloon images that you can pick up at Bugaboo and believe me, each one would qualify you for the Pollycraft challenge this week.
Photobucket

A Snowman in a Snowstorm

I guess that's what is happening here with this card. The challenge this week at Incy Wincy is to make an all white card, except for the image. That seemed to suit a snowman card and you know I never turn down a chance to make a snowman card. :)
Photobucket
To add something to the "all white" I embossed my background with the Snow Dots folder and the criss cross pieces with Swiss Dots.

More Stella New Releases

It's Tuesday and that means it's NEW RELEASE day at Bugaboo Stamps. Woo hoo! You asked for it and Jodie has delivered with even MORE new Stellas. I've never worked for the IRS,but I am an accountant so I had to choose this Stella and her snarky comment about the IRS. Too funny. You can find more Stellas at Bugaboo.
Photobucket
I am entering this in the Spoonful of Sugar challenge this week which is Anything Goes.

A Kid's View of Fall

I know I say this about every single Bugaboo image but seriously, can these things be any cuter? I absolutely love the new line that Jodie released on Friday called A Kid's View Fall. This image, called Wheelbarrow Kids, is just one of many adorable images in this line. Go check them out, you'll want them all.
Photobucket
I used Scrappy's sketch from the Crafty Ho's Challenge for this card.

A Surprise Birthday

How cute is this baby bursting out of the present to wish you a happy birthday? Adorable, I know. You can get this cutie and several others like him at Bugaboo as part of the Birthday Baby line. This one, appropriately enough, is called Peek a Boo.

Designed to Delight and OWH

Many digi artists and challenge blogs are sponsoring challenges to benefit OWH this week. Double Delight challenge is one of them. Usually, they challenge you to use the current freebie image from Faith at Designed to Delight, but this week for the challenge you can use any D2D image and make a card for OWH. I chose this adorable snowman:
Photobucket
Challenges:

Remember, if you play along with D2D, you still have to use the Scardy Cat image this week to get next week's freebie.

Special Challenge for OWH

Today is not a "normal" challenge day for Catch the Bug and Bugaboo Stamps. This week, Bugaboo is teaming up with Operation Write Home (OWH). OWH is an organization that collects handmade greeting cards and delivers them to soldiers overseas so they can write to their families back home. It really is a great organization and you can read more about it HERE.
So, what's the challenge you ask? Well, given the time of year, we're challenging you to make a holiday card. ANY kind of holiday card you would like and then, send it to OWH so a soldier's family can have the joy of hearing from their loved one on one of your gorgeous cards. You can find where to send your card, or cards, on the OWH website.
This is a card I made using one of my favorite Bugaboo Marshmallow Snowmen:
Photobucket
I hope you'll play along in the challenge and send some cards to OWH for our soldiers. Remember, no glitter or glitter glue on your cards because it easily transfers to the soldiers' uniforms and makes them an easy target at night. Other than that, create any kind of holiday card you would like and send it in! Easy peasy!

Oldie but Goodie Day at Bugaboo

I know I always say Friday is my favorite day because of Freebie Friday at Bugaboo. Then again, I really like Tuesdays because those are New Release days at Bugaboo. BUT you know what else is fun? Thursdays Oldie but Goodie day at Bugaboo. I love seeing what the Bugaboo DT does with all those "old" forgotten images. Of course it just adds to my wishlist, but that's okay. Today I used a not-so-old image from the Fancy Sunbonnet Line. I love these little girls:
Photobucket
Go check out what the rest of the DT chose for their Oldie but Goodie projects this week over on the Catch the Bug Blog. You may find one or two things you need to add to YOUR wish list!
This fits the Daisy Doodles Challenge of using a digi image and only one embellishment and Stamping Vacation which is to not use any sparkle.

You know that favorite sweater of yours? The one you can't wait to put on as soon as there is a little chill in the air because it is so warm and cozy, so familiar and comfortable? Do you have a favorite stamp that makes you feel somewhat similar to that? For me it's this Bugaboo image of Sean and his dog. I LOVE this image. I print it off and can't wait to color it. Can't wait to make another card with it. It's definitely my favorite.

Not Doing So Well With These

Okay, so I bragged in my last post that I'm closing in on one hundred Christmas cards. I am excited about that but in the meantime, I've found myself sadly lacking in cards that I need more of and that I need more often through the year and that is THANK YOU cards. Seriously, I have five. I think I'll start a THANK YOU tally on my sidebar next. Luckily these adorable little Sewing Bears from Bugaboo have come to my rescue.

Christmas Cards Meet the Cowgirls

This week at Cowgirl Up, the challenge is to make Christmas cards for soldiers. I combined that with this month's Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge which is to make non standard sized cards (I chose 4x4) and include crystals, pearls, gold or silver on each one. If you make five cards during the month, you get entered into the monthly prize drawing. So, I made five!
These three using StretchNBubbles' new Christmas Block images:
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
I hope you can see my pink crystals, pearls and red crystals on each of these. I had to remember not to use glitter since these are going to soldiers. I REALLY wanted to glitter Rudolph's nose!
These next ones I made with the Santa Baby image from the Digi Shack:
Photobucket
This one was made with the colors from this week's Colour Create Challenge which was to use red and gold and either white or cream. This is the "goldest" paper I could find.
This one was made with the Santa Baby image and the colors from the Pixie Dust Challenge which was to use black and white and one other color:
Photobucket
All of these cards are going in the mail today. Please play along at Cowgirl Up and send some cards to soldiers today!

Trying Something New

That's the challenge this week at Charisma Cardz. Well, this is my attempt at trying to fill in the background of my stamped image. I put in the sidewalk and the grass with my Copics and then tried to fill in what would be the sky by sponging my new blue distress ink in the background. Okay, obviously I need more practice but it was good to try something different than what I normally do which is color the image and leave the background completely white.
Photobucket
This is another Garden Cats image from Bugaboo. I also used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

How Do You Get Around?

This week the challenge at Crafty Creations is to use some form of transportation in your image. Well I immediately thought of Skye and her bike from Bugaboo Stamps.

I don't know where Jodie comes up with these sentiments for her images. Does she KNOW people like this? Whatever her inspiration, she keeps me laughing, especially with Stella.
Photobucket
I used the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. You can, of course, get Stella at Bugaboo. And coming later today are two fabulous Freebie Friday images.
