Cocoa Anyone?

Hmm...the weather forecast for St. Louis over the next couple of days is unlike anything I ever remember hearing in the 20+ years I've lived here. We're expecting one half to three quarters of an inch of ice followed by 6-10 inches of snow. Yes, HERE...in St. Louis. That combination and in those quantities just does not happen here so let's hope the forecasters are wrong. Otherwise we're looking at more days off of school and worse, downed power lines from all the ice. Ugh. Cold...no electricity...scary.
You can tell it's cold here, right? That's why I've been enjoying a nightly cup of hot chocolate. :)

Challenges:
Secret crafter- hot chocolate images or colors
Crazy 4 Challenges-vintage/shabby chic

ATC Anyone?

Ahh... the ATC. What do you do with your ATCs? Do you collect them? Trade them? Store them in a book somewhere? Or do you use them on your cards? I'm asking because I really don't know what to do with the ATCs that I have. I love them, but I'm at a loss as to what to actually DO with them so any ideas would be appreciated.
I'm talking about ATCs today because that is the Bugaboo Challenge this week. Make an ATC. Here is mine:
Photobucket
I love these little birthday kids! They're part of the A Kids' View line of images at Bugaboo. Check out the rest of the DT's creations at the Catch the Bug Blog and join in the challenge over there. We'd love to see your ATC. I'm also entering this in the One Stop Craft Challenge which is Anything Goes ATCs.

Or DID THEY? I'm not so sure about Stella and Gus. I guess they're happy in their own way. Today, Jodie is releasing more of this cute couple's images and sentiments. The set is called Stella and Gus Tidbits and there are some doozies so you'll want to head over to the shop and check them out.

May Your Merry Be Very

I know a lot of people got into stamping and cardmaking because they attended a Stampin' Up party. I have been to one SU party in my life-that was bout 8 years ago and it didn't get me hooked on stamping or cardmaking. It did increase my collection of rubber stamps that sat in my closet for years before I picked them up and did anything with them. Now I'm into digi stamps so I don't think I'll be going to any more SU parties BUT at the party I did go to, I got a cute little Christmas stamp which is where this sentiment stamp is from:

Thank you to those of you who read my plea regarding IE. I've switched to Chrome and so far, so good. Everything seems to load much more quickly and I have to say, I'm enjoying that. We'll see how it goes but hopefully it's the end of the problems!

You can win seven, four or two images of your choice from the Bugaboo store.

Can You Help Me?

Have you noticed that my blog is really plain right now? Are you wondering why and what happened to my adorable pink polka dots? Here's the thing:
Do you ever click to go to someone's blog and you get a pop up message saying that "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" or some such nonsense? Well, that happens to me every so often and it sucks because I can't see what my blogging friends have been up to or comment on their fabulous creations. I thought it was just a IE thing and I lived with it. UNTIL I went to change my blog whatever-you-call-it...decorations? And when I saved the one that I wanted, I got that message ON MY OWN BLOG! Oh my gosh, I was freaking out that I wouldn't ever be able to get to my blog again. Luckily I had it opened on another tab, went there and deleted the background I had tried to load. I went through that process again with the same result (different blog background provider, just to see) so now I am left with nothing because I'm afraid of locking myself out of my blog altogether.
SO can someone help me? Why do I get this message in the first place? Do I need to update my comptuer in some way? Is there anything I can do about it? I just want to be able to have a cute background on my blog AND go and visit everyone's blogs without getting that annoying message. Your comments and thoughts and ideas are more than welcome. Thank you!

** Oh, and if you're going to tell me to try Firefox, I already did that and had some limited success but now it won't let me sign in to my blog...something about needing to go through some sort of validation steps or something which, when I do what it tells me to do, I still get the same message so Firefox is not working either**

Happy Birthday to Yoooouuuuu

I hope you've been playing along all week in the Bugaboo Birthday Bash challenges. Hopefully you have found the challenges to be fun and not too complicated. Today, I promise, is an EASY ONE...make a birthday card. You know you can always use more birthday cards so why not make one today and further your chances of being the grand prize winner!
Today I used one of the images from the Scarlette Occasions set and I blinged up her dress and her ring with Stickles:
Photobucket
Remember to check out the Catch the Bug blog for all the details of prizes and challenges. I'm entering this in the Paper Play challenge which is to use black.

Scrappy's Sketch

Are you familiar with Scrappy? She's like the Energizer Bunny of crafters. I'm not sure if she ever sleeps-she just keeps cranking out these AMAZING projects for like a bazillion challenges per week. She's also awesome at making sketches so today's challenge is to use Scrappy's sketch to make your card:
I made my card with some paper from the AWESOME Cardmaker paper swap and this adorable Wee Ones image from Bugaboo:

We're about mid-way through the birthday celebrating. I hope you're playing along. For a review of what's been going on and what's coming up, check out the Catch the Bug Blog.

And the Party Never Stops...

I hope you enjoyed Saturday's Bugaboo Blog hop/Birthday celebration. There were so many awesome projects displayed along the way, I know I have lots of new ideas and things I want to try for myself. You still have time to hop along. Go HERE for the details.
Remember that the party is going on all week...you can win some FABULOUS prizes for playing along with the daily "mini challenges". The theme today is Blue and White. In addition to lacking "grown up" birthday cards, I also lack "manly" birthday cards so I'm setting out to remedy that starting with this card I made with Gus:

I hope you'll play along. Enter your card at the Catch the Bug Blog for your chance to win.

Aaah..the all white card. That's a challenge for me but luckily, the Digital Tuesday Challenge is to make an all white card BUT the image can be colored. That works for me. And of course, being the snowman lover that I am, an all white card calls for a snowman card. And what better snowman to use than this adorable one from Bugaboo?

A Cozy Snowman

Okay, another day that didn't start out so great. My husband went to leave for work and walked back in two minutes later because the garage door opener didn't work. Looks like it's the big coil thing at the top of the garage, not the actual opener itself. Not sure how much that is going to cost to fix...GRR. I was already planning on taking my car in to the shop today because it's acting weird but I won't be doing that since the garage guy is coming between 12 and 4. I told my 16yo (who is off school today) that if the repair man came closer to 12 that he'd have to go get my younger son from school today (they have a half day and get out at noon) and he, of course, gave me attitude about that. Yeah, cuz that's really hard to drive the two miles to get your brother. Sheesh...teenagers. Less than a month and I'll have THREE of them when Brendan turns 13. :)
Anyway, on to more fun topics like...um...CARDMAKING. Today I used this snowman from Bugaboo. I just love this line of snowmen...who am I kidding, I love all snowmen!
Photobucket
Isn't this paper FABULOUS!! I got it from the Cardmaker Paper Swap. I can't stop raving about how awesome the concept of a paper swap is and I do hope we make it a regular thing over there.
The card does say "Seasons Greetings" at the bottom. It's much easier to read in person.

So Many Ways to Enjoy Stella

If you know Bugaboo Stamps, you know Stella. This Stella is not your typical sassy Stella with an attitude. She's from the Stella Calendar collection and she can be used so many ways. I think she makes a nice (although somewhat sarcastic) holiday card with the "Warmest Wishes" sentiment. It just works for her!

Oldie But Goodie Day

Do you have any idea how many adorable, fun and sassy images Jodie from Bugaboo stamps releases each week? At least 14. That's right! And with that many images coming out every week, it's no wonder that you may have missed one or two along the way. That's the purpose of the Thursday Oldie but Goodies. That's when the Bugaboo team shows you images from past releases that you might have missed. Today I used the Itchy Dog...I love this guy!
Photobucket
Challenges:
Pollycraft: Use something new
My "new" thing is the paper. These are from the paper swap I talked about in yeserday's post. I LOVE getting new paper.
Check out the Catch the Bug blog to see what the rest of the DT chose to show you as their Oldie But Goodie this week. You're sure to find something you didn't know you needed! :)

Scarlette Santa

And here comes the second Christmas card of 2011..woo hoo up to two already. :) That's okay, I'm not too worried about my totals YET. I'm playing along this week with the Bah Humbug challenge which is to make something with holly so I used this image of Scarlette in her little Santa outfit:

Challenge:

Paper Paper and MORE PAPER!

I recently participated in a paper swap at Cardmaker Cardswap and let me tell you, there is nothing like getting a whole new stack of paper in the mail to give your crafting mojo a boost! I loved each and every 6x6 piece of paper and couldn't wait to get started making cards with them. The paper swap was such a huge hit, and everyone has so much paper lying around, that we're talking about making it a monthly thing. Can you imagine?? Bonus paper in the mail every month! WOO HOO!
So, one of the first cards that I made was with this adorable Sean image from Bugaboo stamps. All three pieces of paper are from the paper swap:
Photobucket
I used the sketch from Sketch and Stash.

Winterbird

It's definitely winter around here. We have snow on the ground and it's about 5 degrees right now. It's even colder with the windchill. I know we don't have it as bad as many parts of the country/world but that doesn't make me feel any warmer. :)
Since we've established that it's definitely winter, it seems the right time to check out the Winterbird line of images that Jodie recently released at Bugaboo Stamps. Here's just one of them:
Photobucket
You can see the whole line of Winterbirds at the Bugaboo Store.
Challenges:
Our Creative Corner-photo inspir-bird/berries/winter
Simply create challenges-embossing

And have you heard? Bugaboo is having a blog hop starting this Saturday to celebrate our FIRST BIRTHDAY! Be sure to check back on Saturday, you won't want to miss the fun, not to mention the chance to win lots of FABULOUS prizes.

Bugaboo New Release Day

For today's New Release day at Bugaboo, we're spotlighting a couple of the images that you can get in the January digi set. I know it's pretty small over there on my sidebar so today you can get a more up close look at one of the images-this adorable little bunny- and if you head over to the Catch the Bug Blog, you can see some others. The digi club package is really a great deal so check it out at the Bugaboo store when you get a minute.
Photobucket
I'm entering this in the CES Challenge-which is "all creatures great and small"

Scarlette's Cupcake

I was going through my cards over the Christmas holidays and noticed a definite THEME to my cards. They are all very cutesy and young. I love cutesy and young so there's nothing wrong with that, it's just that that theme doesn't always fit the person you want to give a card to, you know? So I thought in 2011, in addition to continuing with the cutesy and young theme, I would try to add in a card here or there that kind of breaks that mold. I used one of Bugaboo's Scarlette images for this card, it's from the Scarlette Occasions set.
Photobucket
And, because one of the challenges was to also decorate the envelope:
Photobucket
Challenges:
Crazy 4 Challenges-photo inspir-pink brown cream
just us girls-decorate your envelope
Pixie Dust Challenge-2 or more ribbons

Happy Monday

Well, I had a "not so great" start to my day today. It was an AWESOME start for my kids, we pulled up to their school and a teacher was in the lot telling us they were having electrical problems so school was canceled. How awesome is that (if you're a kid!)??!! After I took them home, I set out for work only to be pulled over twenty feet from my office. No, not that I was so excited to get to work that I was speeding...nope...apparently I have expired plates. How embarassing is that?? They were supposed to be renewed by October 31! OMG...so, that's what I'll be doing today...getting the car inspected and retagged. Sheesh. Isn't this what I have a husband for?? :)
Anyway, on to more fun topics....I think I'm finally back in the cardmaking groove. Got a few cards made over the weekend and that feels good. Here is one of them, using the adorable Jesse Bear from Bugaboo Stamps:
Photobucket
Challenges:
Digi Doodles Challenge-buttons
Teddy Stampers-celebrations with a teddy bear
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great day.

Bugaboo Stamps Emboss It! Challenge

Hi there! Welcome to another fun challenge at Catch the Bug, the challenge blog of Bugaboo stamps. Today's challenge is super easy...all you have to do is use embossing on your card! You don't have to use a Bugaboo image, but if you do, you're eligible for the grand prize of 7 free Bugaboo images. Woo hoo!
I mentioned earlier in the week that I was bummed that my Christmas Card counter was down to zero. But as I said that day, I was working on a Christmas card and would start getting my counter back up right away so here it is, using an image from the Stella Calendar set:
Photobucket
I used some awesome paper that I got at Archiver's before Christmas along with my Snow Dots embossing folder (one of my favorites!). Stella is colored with Copics.
I hope you'll play along in the challenge, I would love to see your creations!
Other challenges I've entered with this card:
Bugaboo Catch the Bug-use embossing
Sparkle Creations Christmas Card-christmas and embossing
Inspirational Card Sketches-sketch
ABC Christmas Challenge-anything christmas

Welcome to Freebie Friday!

Wait till you see the fabulous image that Jodie is giving away for today's Freebie Friday. Don't you just love this guy? If you do,(and why wouldn't you?) go check out the rest of the set at the Bugaboo store. If you need a little more inspiration, check out what the rest of the Bugaboo DT has done with this guy at the Catch the Bug Blog. And don't forget to stop by there tomorrow to find out what the new challenge is.
Photobucket
Challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers-first and latest/greatest
Stampin Royalty-birthday theme
Cute Card Thursday-out with the old-use stash(all but the image is old)
Paper Play Challenges-clean and simple
Moving Along with the times-out with the old-in with the new (old: papers, ribbon, dew drops new: image)
I have to explain the Crafty Cardmakers challenge. You're supposed to post a recent card and one of your first cards you published to your blog. UGH! So here is a photo of one of the first cards I posted to my blog:
Photobucket
This was for a challenge at Cardmakers where you had to use one of those paint sample cards you can get at the local hardware store. I like the concept but I was obviously heavily into stickers at the time....way before digi images and Copic markers came into my world. Here's the other one I posted the same day...can you say "sticker overload"? :)
Photobucket
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Head over and pick up your freebie, and don't forget to join the Bugaboo challenge tomorrow!

Oldie but Goodie Time Again

Hooray for Thursday! Don't you just love Thursdays? If for no other reason than it is Oldie but Goodie Day at Bugaboo Stamps. I used this cute little boy out fishing for the day:
Photobucket
I sent a box of cards to Operation Write Home yesterday. There were 168 cards in the box so as you can imagine, my supply of cards is pretty low at the moment. I thought I'd better start making some birthday cards so that's what this card became.
Challenges:
Cards for Men: Sketch and male themed (of course!)
Crazy 4 Challenges: celebrate something
Go check out the Catch the Bug Blog to see what the rest of the Bugaboo DT created for you today. You won't be disappointed.
