On the Road to Recovery
Good Morning everyone. You may have noticed that things have been pretty quiet around here lately. I know it's not like me to go days without making cards and posting them to show you. Don't even get me started on the very SMALL number of challenges I've entered over the last seven weeks. Hopefully, all of that is going to change. You see, about seven weeks ago I suffered an attack of vertigo completely out of the blue that knocked me on my butt. I literally could not get out of bed for three days. Luckily it has gotten much better but the dizziness has not left me. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but let me tell you, when you're dizzy, it's very hard to look at your computer screen, read, or look down to color images. I said earlier that hopefully, this is about to change and the reason for that is that yesterday I went to a physical therapist for what is called Vestibular Therapy. It sounds very "hocus pocus" but apparently there are these little crystals in the fluid inside your inner ear that help your brain keep you balanced. Sometimes these crystals travel outside of where they're normally supposed to be and confuse your brain which causes the veritgo. So, I went to the PT yesterday and she moved me in different directions to try to get the crystals back where they belong. I know, I said it sounded "hocus pocus" but really, this is an actual documented procedure and I was at an actual hospital rehab center! The good thing is, it WORKED to some extent. I can now look to my left without being overcome by a wave of dizziness. I haven't been able to do that in seven weeks. So, I have exercises to do on my own and I have another appointment for therapy next week, if I need it. I'm hoping the dizziness will completely go away as I do the exercises. I am totally appreciating the non dizzy hours I am currently having. Hopefully those hours turn into days and this whole thing can soon be a thing of the past.
Sorry for this long post, but I felt like I should explain why it seemed like I dropped off the face of the earth...or at least the face of the card making blog world. :) I'm hoping to feel good enough to make some cards next week. All these cards that you've seen on my blog over the last seven weeks are ones I've done for my Bugaboo team and luckily I worked ahead and pre posted them in blogger. Otherwise, I'm not really sure what you would have seen here. A whole lotta nothing I'm thinking.
So, on to my card. You know that Jodie, the awesome creator behind Bugaboo Stamps, is taking a break from creating this month to get her new store in order. So instead of whole new sets being available two times per week, Jodie is giving away single images two times per week. Here is today's:
Thanks for sticking with me through the whole post. Hopefully I can kick this thing for good and get back to participating in challenges and visting all of your blogs!

How to Make a Paper Bow
Hi and welcome to Tutorial Wednesday at Bugaboo Stamps and Catch the Bug. Today I'm going to show you something fun and easy to do with those paper scraps. You can make a really cute paper bow embellishment:
You will need:
Scrap paper
adhesive
sticky tape
Crop-a-dial or other hole puncher
a brad
Prima flower (optional)
Steps:
1. Cut scrap paper into strips as follows:
1 inch wide and 6.5 inches long (4)
1 inch wide and 5.5 inches long (2)
2. Apply adhesive to one edge of the back side of each strip and form strips into circles
They should all look like this:
3. Apply a small piece of sticky tape to the inside center of each circle
4. Remove sticky tape cover and press top of circle down to adhere to sticky tape being careful not to crease the rounded edges
5. Stack up all of the pieces and punch a hole through the middle with your Crop-a-dile or other hole punch
6. Arrange your pieces in a bow pattern (you can see an extra hole here, you only need one but mine was off center so I had to make another one!)
7. Feed the brad through the flower and through the holes on all the bow pieces
8. Secure brad and rearrange pieces if needed. You're now ready to use your new bow as a fun embellishment
I hope you enjoyed learning how to make a paper bow. Now you have a way to use up all of those paper scraps!
