Cocoa Anyone?

The challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday is to make a card featuring a cocktail or a drink. I decided to go with this image from Alison at StretchNBubbles....is it cocoa? coffee? not sure but it looks yummy! I combined it with the EZ Breezy Kewl Color challenge colors of hunter green, real red and whisper white. It also fits in with the challenge at Cooking it up with Katie which was to make a Christmas themed card with some sparkle and a border.
Photobucket
For the first time, I used one of my border embossing folders...actually, they're more like strips. I think I'm going to like them. I glittered up the little dots on the embossing for my "sparkle" for Katie's challenge.

Copics:R29,E57,G28
Nesties: Scalloped Squares

This week Frosted Designs, Practical Scrappers and Stuck on You Sketches are teaming up for three challenges and a chance to win some blog candy.
Frosted Designs: Use an Owl on your card
Practical Scrappers: Use three ribbons

I also used the colors from this week's Color Throwdown which were Elegant Eggplant, Bordering Blue and Rich Razzleberry.
This is another supercute free image from Alison at SketchNBubbles. Hop on over there and get it for yourself and check out all her other cute creations.
I adaped this sketch a bit because I didn't have anything to make the edges that are shown in the sketch so I added some swirly fozz felt.

Stretch N Bubbles

Have you been over to see Alison's creations at StretchNBubbles yet? If not, you might want to go check it out. She has some of the cutest digi images available FOR FREE. Yes, that's right..FREE. If you aren't sure you like digi images, this would be a perfect way to try them out without any risk. All you have to do is let Alison know you used it. Easy-peasy. And I guarantee you will find something adorable over there. Here's a card I made with an image available right now:

Photobucket
I'm posting this card at the ABC challenge which is G for green this week and as an entry over at the Cuttlebug Challenge which is to use purple, green and black and of course, some embossing.
Hope you'll go check out StretchNBubbles. You have nothing to lose and a whole lot of cute digi images to gain!

Color Dare #40

Welcome to another Color Dare! This week the colors are: Pumpkin Pie, Almost Amethyst and Soft Suede. As always, if you don't have these exact colors, use what you have that is close. Please be sure to link up your creation to the Color Dare blog to be in the running to be chosen as a guest DT member!
Photobucket
I won this image from 2 Red Bananas. He's called "Skater Jack". I wanted to do something different with this card because I felt like I was using embossing on EVERYTHING so this time, I didn't use any. It's pretty plain but I think the image is so cute it still makes for a nice card (at least I hope so anyway!) AND it's a rare boy-themed card. No embossing, no ribbon....that means I can use it for the Die Cuts R Us challenge this week which is to make a boy-themed card. And that bow in the corner...no it's not ribbon, it's a very boyish twine so I am using this for the Creative Belli Blog challenge which is to use twine or raffia on your card.

Bonnie Witch

This is a new FREE image from Alison at Stretch N Bubbles called Bonnie Witch. I colored her with my Copics using the colors for this week's Cuttlebug Challenge which was to use the colors purple, green and black and since it's the Cuttlebug challenge, you have to use some embossing on your card. I sort of followed the sketch from this week's Whimsy Stamp Challenge though Bonnie is a rectangle and if I had followed the sketch exactly, she would have been a circle. Also this week, the Kaboodle Doodle challenge is to make a spooky Halloween card. Okay, okay I know Bonnie sure isn't spooky but I added those spiders in the corner and they are SCARY! :)

Back to it!

I had a fantastic weekend! My friend Chris came to visit from Chicago and we had the BEST time. You'll never guess what Chris gave me for my early birthday and Christmas present. A GYPSY! I could NOT believe it. I'm so excited!
Now it's time for me to get back to crafting. I feel so out of it, having not been logged on all weekend. I'm slowly catching up on all the awesome creations my blog friends have made over the weekend. You've all been very busy! In the meantime, I'm posting a picture of a gift tag I made for a swap at Cardmaker Cardswap. This swap was hosted by my friend Margaret. I made 14 of these and can't wait to see the tags I'm going to get back.
Photobucket
The image is from Dustin Pike and I colored it with my Copics. The snowflake is a punch I got on clearance last year at Michael's and the To From is from an old SU set. I also stickled the snowflake in case you can't see that in the picture.

As you can see there is a bow on the bottom which is my favorite embellishment so I can use this for the Paper Play Challenge which was to use your fave embellie.
Photobucket
And I stamped the cupcakes on the inside-sorry for the bad pic-

A Gift Card Swap

I made these cute little gift card holders for a swap at Cardmaker hosted by my friend Jane. I used the tutorial found here. I adapted it a bit since I didn't have the thing Dawn uses to make the top of the purse. I think they turned out pretty cute. The flower in the top corner I made with my Cricut. I hope that counts for this week's Die Cuts R Us challenge which was to make your own embellishment. Using my Celebrations cartridge, I cut the bow for the present at 2 inches and 2.5 inches and put one of Jane's dew drops in the middle to make it look like a flower. I'm also entering this in this week's Just Buggin challenge which was to make something other than a card.

Monochromatic Snowman

A couple of challenges have the theme of doing something Monochromatic this week. I hope I did this correctly. Not sure if the fact that I have white on my card throws off the whole monochrome thing or what. This is for these challenges:
Corrosive Challenge: sketch
The Cuttlebug Spot: Monochrome and embossing
Paperblooms: Monochrome
Crafty Creations: Use the color blue
Photobucket
Card Details:
Image: Dustin Pike "snow bird"

Embossing: snow dots, swiss dots
Other: ribbon, snowflake punch

Tea Time

This week's challenge at Cardmaker is to make a tea bag holder. I followed the instructions found here.
Photobucket
I used the colors from this week's SPCC Color challenge which were green galore, almost amethyst, cocoa and teal. I used a new free image from Stretch N Bubbles for the front of the card. There is another cup image available along with this one, the other one has whipped topping. :)

A Tall Card

I had this post all ready to post on Thursday, complete with card details and somehow...not sure how...I deleted it. YES it asked me if I was sure I wanted to delete it and for some reason I clicked yes. I thought I was deleting a different post...GRRR So here is my new posting, with a lot fewer details because I no longer know what those details are! I do know that I did this card for several challenges:
CPS Challenge: sketch
CCEE: Tall card
Secret Crafter: Autumn colors
Curtain Call: Dusty Durango, Ruby Red, Very Vanilla, So Saffron, Moss
Photobucket

A Mix of Old and New

I pulled out an old SU Halloween stamp set to make this card. It was one of the first ones I bought back in 2003 or 2004 (I'm guessing) That's where the spider comes from. The web and the "trick or treat" comes from a new stamp set I got as blogcandy. I also used a little digi image of a mouse for this card. Here are the challenges that I used to help me make this card:
2 Red Bananas: use the colors purple, orange and black
Digital Tuesday Challenge: use a digi image and make a Halloween card
Spoonful of Sugar: Used their sketch
Papertake Weekly: a spooky Halloween card (spiders..EEK!)
Tuesday Taggers: use the digi mouse image
Just Buggin': Use a die cut that starts with the letter B ("bag" for my card)
Photobucket
It's frustrating to use this purple. I love the color but for some reason it photographs as a much more "blue" purple. Trust me, it's a very dark purple. :)
Card Recipie:
Images: web and trick or treat: Inkadinkadoo "halloween", Spider: SU!, Mouse: Delicious Doodles
Copics: R00,C5,V17,RV00,100
Die Cuts: Doodlecharms "bag" cut at 1"
Embossing folder: Swiss Dots
Other: pop dots, candycorn stickers

Mojo Dave

Here's Dave again. He's a free image over at Pollycraft. Follow the link and check out the sidebar on the right for a list of all the freebies. I combined Dave with this week's Mojo Monday sketch and the colors from Rosie and Dee's challenge which were coffee and cream with a cherry on top. It also works for the Cupcake Craft challenge which was to use a button and some stitching. My fake button has some fake stitching on it...that's my kind of sewing. :)

I made this card using the sketch from Aly's Sunday Challenge which is also the featured challenge for Pile it On. I used the colors from Pollycraft's challenge which were tangerine, turquois and chocolate. I also added some punched snowflakes for the Whimsy Stamp Challenge which was to use punches or die cuts.

Another Bonnie Card

I just love this new image from Alison at Stretch N Bubbles named Bonnie. You can pick it up for free at Alison's blog. I colored this Bonnie for this week's Dare U 2 Digistamp. The challenge this week is a color challenge...use black, white, yellow and orange along with a digital image. I thought this was a good Halloween color combo and Bonnie could be a girl in a retro Halloween costume so I used it for the Allsorts challenge which is to make a Halloween card. Also this week at the Stampin B's, the challenge is to make a gatefold card with a flower. The flower I used was a RAK from my friend Tracy at Cardmaker. The dewdrop in the middle of the flower is from my friend Jane at Cardmaker.
Photobucket
Card Recipie:

Copics:Y08,YR04,Y21,E31,E00, R00,E95, E93
Other: Flower from Tracy, dew drops from Jane

I was Featured!

I was scrolling through my comments today and got a big surprise. Samantha over at Scrapmaster's Paradise featured one of my color combo cards as one of her favorites. I'm totally honored! I have a new blinkie on my sidebar to show off my new honor. :) Here's the card that made the "favorites":
Photobucket
The color combo was to make a Christmas card with the colors Pixie Pink, Very Vanilla and Close to Cocoa. Never would have thought of that color combo for Christmas but I think it's a good one!
Thanks Samantha!

A Dancing Lion

This is a free digi image from Dawn over at Lost in Paper Scraps. I think I say this about everything but...isn't he adorable?? I colored him with my Copics and pop dotted him on some scalloped circles that I cut with my Nesties. I used the colors from this week's SPCC Color Challenge which were Soft Suede, Not Quite Navy and Dusty Durango.

A Charming Bonnie Birthday Card

This is a new image from Alison at Stretch N Bubbles. Her name is Bonnie. Isn't she adorable? She's also FREE over at Alison's blog so go check her out. I made this card using the sketch from Our Creative Corner ( I rotated it ) and the theme from the One Stop Craft Challenge which was to make a birthday card. I also added a charm for this week's Cute Card Thursday challenge and I used brown for this week's Stamp Something Challenge.

A Colourful Snowman

Not really the snowman, but the card itself is an unusual color combination for a Christmas card, don't you think? These are the colors from this week's Colour Create Challenge which was to use red, black, white and yellow. I also used the sketch from Wednesday's Stamps and Smiles Challenge.
Photobucket
Card Details:
Image: Dustin Pike "Snow Broom"
Copics: YR 04, Y21, 110, R29, E43, C5, C1
Ink: Memento "lady bug" and "tuxedo black"
Embossing: Cuttlebug "snowflakes"
Other: popdots and snowflake punch

Trick or Treat

This is my final card for this week's Stamps and Smiles challenge week. Today's challenge was also a sketch. I used the colors from this week's Pals Paper Arts challenge which was to use Perfect Plum, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. Since these seemed like good Halloween colors, I'm also using this card for the 2 Red Bananas challenge this week and Spoonful of Sugar challenge which were both to make a Halloween card.
Photobucket
For some reason, the very dark purple color I used is photographing blue. Not sure why that is but believe me, it is purple.
Card Details:
Die Cuts: Doodlecharms pumpkin 3/4 inch blackout
Stamp: SU
Ink: Memento "tuxedo black"

Monochromatic Giraffe

Here's another freebie image. This one is from Stretch N Bubbles. I'm using this week's Paper Blooms challenge which was to make a monochromatic card. Check out how Alison at Stretch N Bubbles colored her giraffe. It's amazing. I'd like to use the excuse that mine doesn't look that good because I was limited in my colors but really, I'm just not that good with my Copics...yet! :) This card uses Tuesday's Stamps and Smiles sketch.
