Happy Birthday Brendan!

Today is my youngest child's birthday. He's 12 today so HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRENDAN. I made a card for him but didn't take a picture of it before I wrote on it and put it in the envelope. Oops!
I don't have a card to post today because I've been working on a swap for Cardmakers. I'm working on the monogram notecards for four other ladies and I can't show them here until 1) they're done and 2)they are in the hands of the recipients.
I do have some fun news. Remember this card:

I entered it in last week's Eat Sleep Stamp sketch challenge and it was chosen as the featured sketch artist! Thanks Tracey! Check out the ESS blog for this week's sketch and play along.

Color Dare #54

Welcome to another Color Dare! This week, and for the month of February, it's an inspiration challenge. Here is your inspirational photo:

The colors are:Kiwi Kiss (Old Olive)Pacific Point (Brilliant Blue)
Baja Breeze (Bashful Blue), Basic Gray, and Whisper White. The colors in parenthesis are suggested substitutions if you don't have the 2009 SU "In colors". As always, if you don't have these exact colors, use what you have that is close.

The image and sentiment are both from Shirley's 2 Girls and I colored the image with my Copics.
Hope you'll join us this week at the Color Dare. Be sure to link up your creation by next Monday at midnight to be in the running for the featured stamper and top three!
I entered this card into the Corrosive Challenge which is a love theme this week and the ABC challenge which is N for New...this is a new stamp I won from Shirley's 2 Girls. It also works for Frosted Designs which is to make a Valentine without pink or red and the PaperCutz challenge which is to make a Valentine card using blue, green, black and white (I hope the grey for the elephants is ok!) and the Bugaboo Stamps challenge which is also to make a Valentine card with nontraditional colors.

A Teddy Tag

This week, There's Magic in the Air is giving away this free Valentine Teddy bear and they want you to make a tag with this image and with some stitching. Lucky for me drawn on stitches are allowed! I combined it with the challenge this week at Cardmaker which is to make a Valentine that is not a folded card and the 365 challenge #339 which is to include the word LOVE on your creation and #338 which is to use pink, white, red and purple. Also, the Tuesday Taggers challenge is to make something with a Teddy bear image.

You Make Me Smile!

Remember Bernie? He's this adorable dog from Elizabeth Dulemba and he's totally free. I think he's just the cutest thing! I tried a new thing with this card thanks to the Robyn's Fetish challenge. They challenged us this week to make a swing or flip flop card. It's actually really easy and I really like it so I'll be using it more often, that's for sure. I used Bernie on this card because the Cupcake Craft Challenge is to make a card with a four legged friend on it and the One Stop Craft Challenge is to make something personal for someone. This card is for my friend Chris who always makes me smile and I imagine Bernie being the cartoon version of her adorable beagle, Woody. This card also works for the Digital Tuesday Challenge which is to use a digi image and try a different fold for a card.
Here's the card closed (I had to use some tape to get it to stay closed enough to photograph!)

And here it is opened:

Precious

Precious. That's the name of this image from Pollycraft. I'm not a big fan of fairies in general but Pollycraft fairies are the exception...they're all adorable! Usually this image is holding a snowflake in her hands but since one challenge featured hearts and the other wanted non winter colors, I decided to replace the snowflake with a little bouquet of hearts.

Challenges:
Paperplay Challenge-use pink, white and green
Pile it On-use any non-wintery colors
Secret Crafter-hearts
CPS Cardsketches- sketch
