Sketch Saturday & Colour Create

I combined these two challenges and one of my new favorite Anya stamps! The Sketch Saturday challenge is, of course, a sketch and the Colour Create challenge is to use red, black and off white.

Last of the Cardmaker Crop Challenges

There are a lot more challenges still going on at Cardmaker...you have a little more time to join in if you'd like so I encourage you to head over there and check it out. This will be my last submission for this crop. It was a lot of fun and we had lots of new participants which is always great. This challenge was from Georgette and the challenge was to use a butterfly on your card.

Lucky Anya

I asbolutely LOVE this Anya from a set I recently acquired. I used her today for a couple of challenges:
365 Cards: sketch
Bugaboo: use the color GREEN
Pile it On: something LUCKY
Since I was going with the LUCKY theme I decided to color her as a little red headed Irish girl. :)

Ana's Sketch

Another challenge at Cardmaker's Spring Crop is to use this sketch by Ana and either use an image of your favorite flowers or use flower embellies.
Photobucket
The image is a freebie from Hobby Paleis.

The Joys of Spring

Another challenge on the Cardmaker Spring Crop is to make a joyfold card. I've never done this before but I LOVE the result so I'm sure I'll use this again.

One of today's challenges at the Cardmaker Spring Crop is to make a card with the focal emphasis in the corner. I thought it was a good opportunity to make a corner bookmark card.

A Happy/Sad Birthday Card

Okay, not really sad, but I absolutely love this dotted ribbon on this card and I just used the last of it to make this card so while I'm HAPPY with the card and it is a Happy Birthday card, I'm a teeny tiny bit sad to say goodbye to my ribbon. I don't remember where I got it but I obviously need to find more. :)
Photobucket
This fun cake image is from StretchNBubbles. I also used these challenges:
Charizma Cards: Birthday image with candles
Stamp Something: Use DP, ribbon and a button
ABC Challenge: One piece of paper
Our Creative Corner: sketch (though I moved it around a bit)

Lean on Me

That's the name of this particular challenge at the Cardmaker Crop this weekend. The challenge was to make an easel card. I love easel cards and I love this image..it's one of the ones I got as part of the Special 50 50 Stamping Group.
Photobucket

A Tote for Your Notes

The next challenge I'm participating in at Cardmaker is one to make a holder for 3x3 notecards. I'm also using this for the ABC Challenge this week which is O for One meaning one paper. I'm hoping that means one piece of DP and that's all I used on these cards and the tote. I'm also using it for Our Creative Corner's challenge to try a new technique because I've never made one of these holders before.
Photobucket

I'm Starting to Like Fairies

If you've read my blog much at all you know I'm not a big fan of fairies. There are a couple that Pollycraft makes that I do like but in general, not a fan. One of the challenges today at the Cardmaker Crop is to make a card with a fairy and some glitter. Just so happens that Free Digital Stamps posted a link to a whole page of fairy coloring pages that you can find here. I love this fairy! Notice the little details like the glasses on top of her head, the pencil behind her ear, the little bookworm nearby and the butterfly on her side. How great is this image? SO much fun to color too and so many possibilities for future coloring!
Photobucket

Paper Cutz Challenge: fairy and pink, green, white and blue
Eat Sleep Stamp: sketch

Color Dare #57

SO many great entries in last week's Color Dare. It's so much fun to visit everyone's blogs and see how the same color combo can be interpreted so many different ways. If you didn't get a chance to play along last week, I hope you'll join us this week. Here is your inspiration pic:

The colors are (roughly) Bashful Blue, Ruby Red, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White. As always, if you don't have these exact colors, use what you have that is close. Here is my card:

The Nice Nurse is on Vacation

I just love this image (and all the other images) from Bugaboo stamps. This nurse just cracks me up with her "I'm sorry, the nice nurse is on vacation" sentiment! I made a hinged card since the Kaboodle Doodle challenge was to make a "fancy fold" card...I guess this isn't that fancy, it's just different than the normal opening card. Here it is closed:
Photobucket
And here it is open, with the sentiment:
Photobucket
Challenges:
Color Q: melon, rose, apricot, green
Pile it on: Make a get well soon card
Mojo Monday: sketch

Designed To Delight Birday Party

Here's the latest image from Faith at Designed to Delight. It's called "Birday Party" and it's the last freebie for February. If you missed out on playing along in February, hop on over next week to get started for March. Remember, the way it works is that if you create something with the first image of the month WHICH IS ALWAYS FREE, you get the next week's image free as well. You keep getting free stamps as long as you keep creating. Faith's images are ADORABLE so I'm sure you'll want to get in on this so pay attention next week! :)
Photobucket
Other challenges:
There She Goes Challenge: birthday card with sparkles
Papertake Weekly: sketch
Practical Scrappers: use stamps

I {heart} Copics challenge

I found this group on Paper Craft Planet for all Copic lovers called I {heart} Copics. I'm sure it's been around forever but I just stumbled upon it this week and to my surprise they have a sketch challenge going on this week, so I had to play along! I used an image from Sara Kay, which is free, and the themes from Cupcake Craft Challenge and Rosie Dee Challenge which were both "friends". The Incy Wincy challenge is to add something "touchy feely" to the card and that is my flowers.
Photobucket
Be sure to check out the entries in the Special 50 50 February challenge. Cast your votes here.

Hmm...Not So Sure About This One

Yeah...so the challenge this week at Daisy Doodles is to make a black and white card with a digi image. If you use a Daisy Doodles image, you get a new free DD image emailed to you. SO I had to play along but the only DD image I have is this super cute butterfly which isn't exactly the first thing you think of when you're trying to make a black and white card! In person, I'm fairly happy with this card but once I photographed it...it looked like a photocopy and just doesn't knock my socks off. :) I paper pieced the wings and used the sketch from this week's CPS Challenge.
Photobucket
If you haven't already done so...be sure to check out the entries in the 50-50 contest. You can cast your vote here.

Time to Vote in the Special 50-50 Contest

I think you have all heard me talk a bit about the Special 50-50 Stamping Group. It's a group of cardmakers and digi stamp artists. If you're a cardmaker, you pay a small monthly fee to have access to all the wonderful images offered by the artists each month. The cardmakers choose any or all of the images to create with and the general public votes on which cards they like the best. The winning cardmaker gets a small prize as does the artist whose image was used in the winning entry. You can vote here. There are a lot of gorgeous entries...it's definitely worth your time to have a look. If you're interested in joining the group, leave a comment here and I'll pass your info on to the coordinator.

Steve Go Green

Alison has finally added a cutie pie BOY image to her collection. This is Steve...isn't he great? He's available today at StretchNBubbles so hop on over there and get him for yourself. He's perfect for all those boy cards you need to make but never have any ideas for!

Crazy 4 Challenges

Hello! It's a gloomy, rainy Sunday here in my part of Missouri. I understand that Missourians further west of here are getting a lot of snow so I guess I'm glad we're getting rain rather than snow but a snowy day sure is prettier than a rainy day!
I've made a lot of cards today. Most of them aren't for challenges (I know, you're shocked!) so I'm not photographing them and posting them here, just sending them out to friends and family for various reasons.
I did make this card using a free image from Sara Kay and the sketch from this week's Crazy 4 Challenges.

Plus you have to use a Basic Grey item and my paper is from BG.
Photobucket

No Stamping Allowed

WHAT? Yes, that's the challenge at Raise the Bar this week...no stamps allowed...not even digi images. You can use a stamp for the sentiment but in keeping with the challenge, I made my sentiment via Word so I didn't stamp anything on this card. I used some stickers I had in my stash. I made the dragonfly with my Cricut Doodlecharms cartridge and dotted it with some puffy paint. I layered them all on some cute new paper I got from Basic Grey.

Here is this week's image from Designed to Delight. I used today's (Thursday's) sketch from 365 Cards.
Photobucket

Thinking of You

I recently found out that my Aunt Pat has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The good news is that they found it early, before it spread anywhere..not even to her lymph nodes. She just began a six week chemo program so I made her this card to let her know I'm thinking of her.
Photobucket
I used this week's CPS Sketch and some new paper I got at Archiver's on my "my computer is broken so I can't go to work day" :) Also, using the flower brad qualifies me for the Cute Card Thursday challenge which is to use something metallic.
This is one of many free Sara Kay images that you can find here.

A He-She Card

This week's challenge at There She Goes Stamps is to make two cards using the same image. One for a boy, one for a girl. I think that's a really fun challenge. I chose this image from Bugaboo stamps that I got as part of the Special 50-50 Stamping Group.

Get Well Soon

This is an image from Dustin Pike that he gave away for free so people could make cards for a sick little girl. I used a sketch from 365 cards and also followed the challenges from the Secret Crafter which was to use a multifold in some way, and the Incy Wincy challenge which was to use punches. I used my border punch. Also, at Cardmaker this week the challenge is to make a card with a folded frame image. I used a tutorial for the folded frame from Beate at Splitcoast Stampers which you can find here. My owl looks squooshed so I think I need to use a smaller image next time. Unfortunately, I'm not sure when I'll be able to print more images because my computer that I have my images stored on is not working a the moment and is being repaired. No time frame given on when it will actually be working again!
Photobucket

Friends

I love this image from Sarah Kay which you can get for free here. I used it with the sketch from the One Stop Craft Challenge and the theme from Crafty Creations which is friends. I also used the Cupcake Craft Challenge which is to keep it simple.
Photobucket
I colored the image with my Copics, used some paper scraps, ribbon and dew drops from my stash. Also used one of my newish border punches.

Bugaboo Challenge

This week's Bugaboo Challenge is inspired by the Olympics. The challenge is to make a card of encouragement or something based on the Olympics...even featuring rings and circles. I went the encouragement route with this super cute Bugaboo image.

I colored the image with Copics: Y11,Y15,Y17 for the raincoat, B02,B00 and B05 for the umbrella, R45,24 and 27 for the boots and E43 for the bear and E57 for the umbrella handle. The puddle and water drops are also B00.

Designed To Delight-Second February Challenge

Are you familiar with Designed to Delight? Faith is the talented artist behind this digi stamp company. At the beginning of each month she offers a free image. If you make something with that image, you get the next week's image free and so on and so on. As long as you keep making something with her images, you get the next free image. This is this week's image...the birthday cake...hurry up and grab it, make something and upload it to the D2D blog before Tuesday when the next image is released. It's really fun to play along so I hope you'll join in. All the info can be found here. If you play along, tell Faith you heard about it here!
Photobucket
I used my circle Nesties and my scalloped circle Nesties and my Houndstooth embossing folder. The dotted ribbon I had in my stash. The cake is colored with Copics: E25, R21, G40 and Y00. I stickled the flowers with Cotton Candy stickles.

Be Mine Forever

No, this is not another Valentine card. It's the challenge this week at Raise the Bar. The idea is to make a card using a stamp that you will NEVER part with. I instantly thought of this adorable snowman. There is no way I will EVER stop loving this little guy. :) Just so happens that the Bah Humbug challenge is to use snowmen this week and the Stamp Something challenge is "something cute"..no problem there!

Photobucket
I also used these challenges:
Copic Colour Challenge: R29, RV21 and B12- for the first time I had all three colors! But, you don't need to have the exact colors to play along, you just have to use Copics.
Eat Sleep Stamp: another awesome sketch!

Owl Always Be Ur Friend

Okay, who doesn't love owls? That's what I thought...NO ONE! This cutie is the newest release from Alison at StretchNBubbles. Head over to her blog to pick one up for yourself.
Owl Always be Your Friend
It's perfect for all those "boyish" cards you need to make...really you can use it so many ways. That's part of what makes digital stamps so much fun to use. Give it a try!
I used a sketch from the Pixie Cottage from back in November and the paper is from DCWV "The Stack 6" which is an awesome paper pack!

A Cute Couple

Don't these two make a cute couple? They are two of my new favorite images. The girl is called "Sammie" and she's from Becca Kay Designs (who is part of the Special 50-50 Stamping Group) and the Boy is called "MDoo Boy" from Mami Doodles. In my mind I call him Brendan because he reminds me of my youngest son. :)

Little Boy Bunny

That's the name of this super sweet image from M&M Designz, another digi stamp company that is part of the Special 50-50 Digital Stamp Group. I used the colors from the One Stop Craft Challenge which were green, brown and cream, the sketch from Mojo Monday and the theme from Rosie Dee which was to make a card for a man. The Design Dollies color challenge this week is to use kraft, ivory and green.
Photobucket

Part 2 50-50 Special and Bugaboo Stamps

This is the second image given to the crafters at the Special 5050 Digital Group from Bugaboo stamps. Isn't he adorable? I used a sketch from Mo's Digital Pencil but I just used the sketch, not a Mo's image so I'm not entering their challenge. I just thought the sketch worked well with this image. The background paper is from the DCWV Nana's Kids stack.
Photobucket
I also used the 365 Cards challenge -Day 342 which was to use an image on the outside and just a part of the image on the inside. I cut out one of the balloons and put it on the inside.
Photobucket
This also works for the Magical Crafts Fortnightly challenge which is to make something for a child.
