Oldie But Goodie Day
Happy Thursday everyone! Despite all the chaos and hub-bub around you these days, you can count on some things to stay comfortably the same. One of those things is that Thursday is ALWAYS Oldie But Goodie day at Bugaboo Stamps and the Catch the Bug blog. This may very well be the last of the Christmas cards you see from me this year :)
Isn't this Santa ADORABLE? If you're still scrambling to finish those last minute cards, pop over to Bugaboo and pick this guy up. He's so easy to color and makes such a cute card, you'll finish off that cardmaking to-do list in no time. :)
This is being entered in the Spoonful of Sugar challenge which is to make a Christmas card.

Challenge Time!
Hello everyone! Are you getting excited that it's getting SO CLOSE to Christmas? I went to see a fantastic Christmas light display last night with my family. It was beautiful. It's hard not to be in the Christmas spirit after that. Well, I guess all you have to do is step into a store and that will pretty much suck the spirit right out of you. :) SO, let's all stay out of the stores today and stay home and craft. You can play along in the Catch the Bug Challenge today which is to make a recipe card. Check out the details HERE.
Here is my card, with a recipe for my all-time favorite cookie, Chocolate Chips. What can I say? I'm easy to please.
I hope you'll play along! Remember that you can win 7,4 or 2 Bugaboo images of your choice- wouldn't that be a fantastic Christmas present to yourself?

Scarlette Occasions
Hooray for Friday! The best day of the week for so many reasons, not the least of which is FREEBIE FRIDAY at Bugaboo Stamps. This week, Jodie is releasing a new set called Scarlette Occasions and you can get this one for free today:
Of course you can decide if you'd like this "occasion" to be a birthday or Christmas or some other gift giving event for you. I went with the birthday theme since I am a little tired of Christmas themed cards at the moment! :)

Hello again. It's time for another Catch the Bug Challenge with Bugaboo Stamps. I hope you played along in our "Anything Goes" challenge last week. We had a lot of great...no FABULOUS..entries. This week the challenge is Winter Wonderland. What does that mean, you ask? Oldie But Goodie Time Again
Yay, it's Thursday! That's almost Friday and it's also Oldie but Goodie time at Catch the Bug and Bugaboo Stamps. It's unusually cold here in Missouri and we're expecting a big (by Missouri standards) snowstorm this weekend so we might see some of these guys popping up:
He's from the Bugaboo Marshmallow Snowman collection and he's ADORABLE! Check out the Catch the Bug blog to see what the rest of the Bugaboo DT has to show you today. You're sure to see some images that you need to add to your Christmas list. :)

Challenge Time Again
Okay, we're fully into the Christmas season and we all know that means we're super busy and stressed out. Hopefully you're still making time for yourself and finding time to relax and create at least a couple of times per week. Bugaboo knows that you want to continue to participate in our challenges and we don't want to add extra stress to your life so this week's challenge is ANYTHING GOES! Yep, make whatever you want and post it to the challenge. You could win 7, 4 or 2 free Bugaboo images. How is that for a Christmas bonus?? Get all the details at the Catch the Bug Blog. I used this Bell image from the November digi club:
Remember, you can make whatever you want. It doesn't have to be a Christmas theme at all! Hope you'll join in the fun. Can't wait to see what you make.

Tutorial Wednesday at Bugaboo
Are you tired of not having just the right packaging for those little Christmas gifts? Or maybe you don't want to buy little plastic tubs to pack your homemade bakery treats in to give to your friends and co-workers. Well, I have a solution for you. Make your own SUPER ADORABLE holiday bag.
Here's a pic, so you know what you're getting into:
And a side view, just to be sure:
Still interested? Okay, here's what you'll need:
A paper lunchbag-cut 4.25 inches from the bottom
Cardstock cut at 4.25x5.5 inches for the front of the bag
Cardstock cut at 6.25x5.5 inches (scored at 4.25") for the back of the bag and front flap
Patterned paper cut at 4x5.25 for front, 4x5.25 inches for the back, and 1.75x5.25 for the flap
hole punch
approximately 8 inches of ribbon
Velcro dot closures
Your choice of adorable Bugaboo image printed about 2" high and colored to match your papers
Here's how you put it all together:
Layer your patterned paper on the cardstock for the front, back and front flap.
Use the hole punch to punch one hole on each side of the cardstock for the back of the bag, near the fold for the flap. Insert ribbon and use sticky tape or glue to secure to the inside (the side without the paterned paper on it) Here's a pic so you can see approximately where you should punch your holes:
Now comes the somewhat tricky part-take your paper lunchbag and turn it so the flat side is facing up. This will be the front of your bag.
Use a glue runner or sticky tape and place tape along the edges of the bag. Secure the cardstock that you prepared for the front of the bag to the paper bag. Turn the bag over and unfold the bag and flatten it out. This is the back side of the bag, before you flatten it out:
And this is what it should look like when you flatten it out. You want to add your prepared cardstock when the bag looks like this:
Put glue along the edges of this side. Take the cardstock that you prepared for the back of the bag and line it up with the cardstock for the front. Don't use the brown bag to determine where this piece goes because the brown bags can be uneven. Line the back piece up with the front piece and press in place.
Turn the bag over and stand it up. If it sits right, move on to the next step which is lining up and securing the velcro dot so the bag can close. If your bag doesn't line up right, adjust the front or back pieces to even it out and then proceed with the velcro step.
Now you decorate the bag as you see fit. I added some buttons at the top and matted my snowman image on two coordinating pieces of cardstock. The choice is yours.
I know this is a lot of instruction but once you walk through it and do it once, you'll be amazed at how easy it is and you'll want to make tons of these for all your small gifts or treats that you'll be giving out. One word of caution, paper bag sizes can vary so measure your paper bag first to make sure that these measurements will work for you. If your bag is a bit bigger, you'll have to adjust your measurements accordingly.
Have fun and if you make one of these bags, let me know, I'd love to see it.

New Release Day at Bugaboo
I know it's Thanksgiving week, but Christmas IS just around the corner so if you haven't already, maybe it's time to get started on your Christmas cards. Just in time for you, Jodie is releasing these adorable Christmas Cupcakes at the Bugaboo Store:
I used this one to make a gift card holder. I printed the image at about 2" and colored it with Copics. Then I made a pocket with my Cricut and glued it to the cardstock that was cut at 4.25x5.5 and matted with coordinating paper. I made a little tag for the inside and tied ribbon through the hole. The gift card will be added to the pull out tag with removable glue dots.
Go check out the rest of the set and get them while everything is still half off in November!
Challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers-containers and or fancy envelopes
Spoon Full of Sugar-anything goes

ABC Monday...
I'm not much for ABCs. You know, the "anything but a card"? I tend to get stuck in a cardmaking rut and rarely branch out to other paper creations. It is, however, my turn over at Catch the Bug to do an ABC. Well, I dusted off the old Cricut, plugged in the "Tags Bags Boxes and More" cart and made these fun holiday tags with one of my favorite Bugaboo images:
I used my favorite Bo Bunny dotted papers and colored the image with Copics and stamped the "to/from" with an old SU! stamp. If you have the TBB&M cart and want to make this tag, it's the beveled tag and I cut it at 4".
OH! By the way, these would be perfect for this week's Catch the Bug Challenge...making a Christmas craft. So, why not make some and join in the challenge? You can win 7, 4 or 2 Bugaboo images of your choice. What are you waiting for??

Challenge Time Again
Wow! Everyone seemed to love last week's challenge of Anything Goes at Bugaboo last week. The response was amazing and we had a record number of entries. I hope you will all like this week's theme equally as well. Did you know that today is World Kindness Day? To celebrate, we're using that as the theme for our challenge this week. You can make a thank you card, a friendship card, anything that says Kindness to you. And it's also a sketch challenge with a sketch designed by the one and only Scrappy! Check out all the details and enter your fabulous creation over at the Catch the Bug Blog. I chose one of Jodie's Sewing Bears and made a Thank You card:

Do You Know Scarlette?
Have you paid much attention to the Scarlette collection at Bugaboo? She's lovely, isn't she?
This image is called "Cafe" and isn't really part of an official Christmas collection but I think it works for a holiday theme pretty well. Since it's Thursday, you can head over to the Catch the Bug Blog and see some other long forgotten images that the rest of the DT has pulled out and dusted off to show you today. Of course your wishlist will get longer, but since it's 50% off all month long, you can afford to knock a couple of items off your list!

In case you can't tell, I really really like the new A Kids' View Winter images from Bugaboo Stamps. They are all just too cute. You can still get one for free and once you take a look at the other ones, you'll want them all. Good thing all stamps are half price this month!

Well, It's Wednesday
For those of you wondering, Amazon was true to their word and the COD Black Ops game was delivered yesterday as promised. My son was very happy...I'm not sure he would have been "okay" if it hadn't arrived yesterday. :) Okay, he would have been but let's just say he was very happy that it did arrive and was waiting for him when he got home from school. Some kids went to the midnight release and he told me that he knew of three kids who stayed home from school to play. Really? What parents call their kid in sick to school so they can stay home and play a video game? I don't get that, but that's just me. Anyway, moving on to card related things:
Have you noticed the November digi club release? It's over there on my left sidebar. You can get all of those images for $10 this month. That's a great deal and since they look pretty small over there on the sidebar, I decided to blow one up for you so you can see just how adorable these guys are. Presenting....Santa in his sleigh (that's not the official name, I just made that up!)
Isn't he cute? Of course he is, he's a Bugaboo!

Hello Again!
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted anything for several days. So, I didn't get my usual block of crafting time when I make lots of projects to show you in the coming week. This card was actually made last night after work:

Oldie But Goodie Day
Hooray for Thursday! In case you don't know, it's Oldie But Goodie Day at Bugaboo Stamps. Of course, none of the images that we use are actually OLD since Bugaboo has only been in existence for 11 months....but still, Jodie puts out a lot of new images every week and it IS possible that you may have missed one or two along the way so that's what OBG day is about, reminding you about some images that you may have missed. And since it's 50% all month at Bugaboo, why not add to that wishlist and head over to the store to get some new images to play with.
I chose another image from the Toppers collection. I've said before that I don't know why these are called Toppers, or what Toppers actually are or how they're used. I used it like any other image but if you know what the secret is, please let me in on it:
How cute is this guy? Adorable, I know. And yes, he is the same little boy I used in my card yesterday...but he's so cute, can you even blame me?? Go see what the rest of the Bugaboo DT chose for their OBG images today at the Catch the Bug Blog. I'm entering this in the Digital Tuesday Challenge which is to use a digi image and Frame something.

Winter Wonderland
It's hopeless. I can NOT get enough of these Bugaboo Snowmen. I love them and I never get tired of using them on my cards. What am I going to do when I don't need to make any more winter themed cards? :) I haven't been keeping up my Christmas Card tally since I gave a bunch to my friend, Chris. I guess I can count what I have left and restart the tally....nah...probably won't do that. Anyway, back to the snowman. Is there anything cuter than these Marshamallow Snowmen? I don't think so!

Ready for Some Cake
Do you have kids who play Call of Duty? If so, you know that next Tuesday is a BIG DAY...COD Black Ops comes out...woo hoo! Okay, that woo hoo was not for myself, in fact, it was a little sarcastic. :) My son wants the game and apparently, you have to pre-order/reserve it since the demand is so high for the game. Oh, and did I mention that there are different versions of Black Ops...the regular version, the hardened version and something else...maybe the premier version or something like that. Of course everyone and their brother (including my son) wants the hardened version. Guess what...not so easy to preorder one week prior to the release date. I did find it on Amazon and selected "release date delivery" so it seems like it's going to arrive at my house on the release day. I'll believe that when I see it. Kyle tells me he won't die if it doesn't get here on the day. Good to know. Anyway...moving on to cardmaking...
Doesn't this little guy look like he's just sitting there, ready for the cake to be served? I think so! He's from the Bugaboo "Toppers" collection. Remember that for the whole month of November, everything at Bugaboo is 50% off. How cool is that? That includes that awesome November digi set that you can see over on the left side bar. All those images for $10-you can't beat it.

It's New Release Day!
You know normally I'm pretty excited for Tuesdays to roll around because it's always fun to show you what Jodie's new releases are at Bugaboo. I'm extra excited today because it is election day. Why am I excited by election day? Because it means an end to these CRAZY political ads on tv and RIDICULOUS phone calls. Why is it that I can be on the "no call list" and not have businesses call me randomly but political campaigns can call whenever they want to and as much as they want to. GRRRRR. SO I'm very happy that it all ends today. :)
Back to the more exciting Bugaboo New Release...today, it's more Poppi the Penguin including this one:
Head over to Bugaboo and pick up the whole set since everything is 50% off for the whole month of November! Get those items that have been sitting on your wish list for so long!
I'm entering this in the City Crafter Challenge which is to use a digi.

Wow...November Already
Can you believe it's November already? Where did October go? It flew by for me, that's for sure. A couple of fun things happening in November: First, Bugaboo is having a DT call and everyone is welcome and encouraged to apply. Find the details on the Catch The Bug Blog. Second, Jodie is having a 50% off sale for the ENTIRE MONTH OF NOVEMBER! Yeah, I know, that's awesome. And have you noticed the November digi club images over on the left sidebar? How adorable are those? They, too, are included in the 50% off sale so you can get the whole set for $10! The November issue of the Bugaboo Newsletter came out today too. You can subscribe at the Catch The Bug Blog and get the monthly freebie and even more info and discounts on Bugaboo products. Under the Wire
I made a lot of cards this weekend. I made a few and got ahead on my Bugaboo DT obligations and managed to squeeze in a few challenges too. Problem is, all the challenges seem to be Monday and Tuesday ones so I have to get them posted today!
I made this card with the sketch from Stampin Royalty and a Bugaboo image from the Stella Calendar line. This one is November:

Happy Halloween
This is going to be a different Halloween for me. My kids are 16, 13 and 12. My sixteen year old is working at his first job at a local grocery store and he's scheduled for tonight. Not that he would have gone trick or treating anyway-but it's different that he has a job and that's what he'll be doing tonight. My daughter, the 13 year old, is going to a friend's house to trick or treat and then is spending the night. (My kids go to Catholic school so they are all off of school tomorrow for All Saint's Day, in case you're wondering how kids do sleepovers on a Sunday night.) That leaves my 12 year old son. One of his friends is coming over to trick or treat in our neighborhood (but he's not spending the night since both my husband and I have to work tomorrow, like normal people!) and my daughter asked me the other day if I was going to walk around the neighborhood with Brendan and Ethan while they trick-or-treated. My answer was, of course, "yes" because that's what I've always done. She told me that I was babying him, after all, he IS in seventh grade. That got me thinking...do I baby him because he's my youngest? I talked about it with my husband who didn't quite come out and say I was babying him, but told me that he felt that Brendan and Ethan are more than capable of making their way around our neighborhood without my escorting them. I mean, I wasn't going to go up to the door with them or anything, I was just going to be in the street or on the sidewalk-you know, just around, just in case. Hmm...I guess I'm overprotective. I don't know. We live in a very safe area, both kids have cell phones if a problem should arise, and they both know to not go into someone's house so they should be fine...right? I'm not saying that I'm for sure staying home and not walking around....I still have 9 hours to decide...
In the meantime, I'm going to be making cards. Not Halloween cards, I'm finished with those. Here's a card I made with a Bugaboo Jesse Bear image:
Challenges:
Teddy Stampers-anything goes with a teddy bear
Just Cute Bears-sketch
Picture Perfect Creations-olive, tangerine, dk purple light brown
If you haven't heard, Bugaboo is having a DT call. Check out the details on how to apply HERE.
