Help Me Please!

Okay, I made these baby cards because there are a few challenges out there for "new beginnings" and I'm making some cards for a friend of mine and wanted to include new baby cards since she has some friends who might be having babies in the next year or so AND I got the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge for Christmas and noticed there was a baby die cut and I wanted to give that a try. Here's my problem and why I need your help...my babies look weird. What can I do to make them look better? Do you cut them on blackout and then just draw a face on? How do I make them look more "real" or at least not so weird! I'm entering them into several challenges even though I'm not particularly happy with the cards, hoping that many people will see them and offer suggestions. Thank you for your input/comments/criticism. I appreciate all of it.

I used paper scraps for both of these cards and some new ribbon I found in the big box of goodies that Alison sent me! Thanks Alison!

  1. Lori, I honestly think the babies are adorable as they are. I'm afraid that if I tried to draw a face on them they would probably look like baby clowns or baby Jokers or something..... scary thought. :)
Anyhoo, LOVE the ribbons, especially the purple one!
    Both are beautiful cards!

  3. Lori..I think they are way cute too.. If I were going to 'add' anything.. i would maybe add some buttons or puffy paint for buttons.. maybe chalk the outline of the baby really light with a light brown chalk.. maybe a little pink (very little ) for the cheeks.. if you don't have any you can use your own eye shadow or blush.. i would also take a very light brown and draw a few little lines for hair and then chalk over it... I would just try to add a few 3d elements that's what makes things come to life.. don't be afraid to add on top of things.. when I am creating a card.. I always think.. Okay what can I change from the "norm" or the way "they" wanted this to look.. and that my friend is how some of the best creations happen :) Hope this helped.. :) I still think they are way cute :) :) hugs

  9. Lori, I like your cards they are great...
I think I would add just a little chalk
    to highlight their faces...

  10. I don't think they look wierd, I really like them. the only thing I would add feature wise would be a spot of chalk for the cheeks -but I'm rubbish with it so don't take my advise!!
