Have you noticed that my blog is really plain right now? Are you wondering why and what happened to my adorable pink polka dots? Here's the thing:
Do you ever click to go to someone's blog and you get a pop up message saying that "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" or some such nonsense? Well, that happens to me every so often and it sucks because I can't see what my blogging friends have been up to or comment on their fabulous creations. I thought it was just a IE thing and I lived with it. UNTIL I went to change my blog whatever-you-call-it...decorations? And when I saved the one that I wanted, I got that message ON MY OWN BLOG! Oh my gosh, I was freaking out that I wouldn't ever be able to get to my blog again. Luckily I had it opened on another tab, went there and deleted the background I had tried to load. I went through that process again with the same result (different blog background provider, just to see) so now I am left with nothing because I'm afraid of locking myself out of my blog altogether.
SO can someone help me? Why do I get this message in the first place? Do I need to update my comptuer in some way? Is there anything I can do about it? I just want to be able to have a cute background on my blog AND go and visit everyone's blogs without getting that annoying message. Your comments and thoughts and ideas are more than welcome. Thank you!
** Oh, and if you're going to tell me to try Firefox, I already did that and had some limited success but now it won't let me sign in to my blog...something about needing to go through some sort of validation steps or something which, when I do what it tells me to do, I still get the same message so Firefox is not working either**

I wish I could help...I use Google Chrome now, which has been a major improvement and when I was having free blog background issues I used the dashboard help (upper right of page) which took me to a Q&A forum and got loads of help from there. I did have to ask questions in different ways until I found one that really matched what my problem was. And of course, it was a super easy fix. hehe ~Terri
ReplyDeleteHello Sweetie ! Are you using the new templates from Blogger ? I struggled when I decided I didn't like them and wanted to go back to the classic ones. When I tried I kept loosing my right side bar but thanks to the help section on Blogger I've found out that I had to choose "classic layout" not "classic template" (on the Design Section - htlm display) and now I'm back to the old ones without having lost anything... Hugs and love from Catherine
ReplyDeleteI use Chrome too. Its the best for Blogger since its part of Google :)
